Hazardous Waste / Garbage Disposal

The following items are considered to be hazardous and therefore potentially damaging to your health and septic system, if mishandled or improperly stored.
  • Paint, spray cans, chemical cleaners, motor oil, varsol, paint thinners and any product that contains the skull and crossbones logo.
  • Batteries, fertilizer, pesticides, insecticides, gas / oil.

Hazardous Waste should be disposed at the proper facility. Do NOT pour or dump any of the above items down your drains/toilet or onto your property, road, ditch and our lake.

The nearest Hazardous waste drop-off is located at:

225 Garfield Wright Boulevard in East Gwilimbury.
Go north on Woodbine Avenue past Davis Drive.
Turn right onto the first street which is Garfield Wright Blvd.

Hours: Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Please RECYCLE the following items. Recycling pick-up is every Tuesday.

  • Newspaper / plastic bottles / cardboard / glass / cans / paper, etc.

The Green Bin is in! Please use your green bin for any food waste, napkins, paper towels, pet waste, diapers and more. For a complete list and more info visit the

Garbage pick-up. The maximum amount of garbage bags / containers your allowed to put out at the curb is 3. If you have over 3 garbage bags / containers for collection, you must purchase stickers for additional garbage bags. Stickers are available at the Petro Canada gas station (Woodbine Ave./Aurora Rd.) for $2 each. Simply place the yellow sticker on your 4th bag or more on garbage collection day which is every other Tuesday. (excluding Holidays).
